Equipping Children for the Future

Among our concerns for widows and orphans, we constantly question how we can help them sustainably. We offer them food and health assistance, but is that enough? Can we not provide them with opportunities to change their living conditions?
When a child loses one of their parents, the consequences often extend beyond the sadness felt by grieving families. It often leads to accumulating difficulties for these families: getting food, finding shelter, but also pursuing education. How can a person who doesn't have money to feed themselves afford their children's education? How can they work if their children are not in school? What kind of life can these children build without the ability to learn even basic literacy skills? Finally, are we going to let these unfortunate circumstances rob them of their future?
With this in mind, for the past 2 years, we have been working to change these dynamics, to alter the rules by which orphans start their lives. We establish schools where they can learn for free, and we also distribute school supplies at the beginning of each school year to relieve families of the associated expenses. Once again this year, hundreds of orphans in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire were able to benefit from the school kits we provided, thanks to your support. For all of this and much more, we thank you.
